Toto was formed in the year 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro, David Paich (who at the time were also famous studio players working with Boz Scaggs) and singer/bassist Bobby Kimball. The original Toto members were joined by keyboardist Greg Tambu who filled in for Paich and bassist David Hungate who filled in for Shem von Schroeck.
